Which do you look forward to more and why??

For those not up on their politics.

Bohemia the authors of Armed Assault, also wrote Operation Flashpoint hence the huge similarities. However Operation Flashpoint was published by Codemasters who retained the rights to the name, hence why Armed Assault which is really Operation Flashpoint 1.5 is not called Flashpoint.

Codemasters are working on their own project called Operation-Flashpoint2 which I supect will look very different to orginal Flashpoint and Armed Assault, and are merely borrowing on the name, which they own the rights to.

Bohemia are working on the next iteration of Armed Assault, which will be Armed Assault 2.

This is a brief summary of the differences, if anyone has a more accurate version PM me and I'll make edits.

neither 'til after I play a demo. I promised myself not to get stung by these clowns again. They have great ideas too bad they can't make them work.

CM and BIS collaborated on OFP. Which was a buggy P.O.S. that got little support and was fixed by the community. A strike for both but BIS is really on a role in my mind.

BIS puts out ArmA - another buggy P.O.S., which to me feels like a better looking OFP, that has gotten little support. Since they are already working on their probable third P.O.S. for us to pay for I doubt we will see support for ArmA. ArmA2 will probably be the patch we should have had for ArmA except we pay $50.

Right now, I say Armed Assault 2. As it sits, Flashpoint 2 is nothing but a few pre-rendered screen shots and a vid or 2 released to excite gaming fans. But I have a hard time believing it can live up to what they are making it seem like. Plus ArmA 2 will most likely be able to make use of many of ArmA 1's mods/scripts. Which is a bonus out of the box.

I wouldn't call OFP or ArmA a buggy piece of sh*t. OFP is arguably one of the most realistic military sims ever made which ArmA builds on.

That said, ArmA has it's fair share of problems, but then so do a lot of games these days. ArmA 2 will hopefully fix these problems and build on an already great game.

OFP2 looks to be a BF2-esque arcadey game to please the console players and so will likely be dumbed down.

I will buy ArmA2 eventho it might not offer allot of changes to the core. A new big green qualty map and some new toys is woth 50$ IMO. Like Gin, my expectations for OPF2 are pretty low.

Lets just say OFP2 and ARMA2 will be very much the same game as i have evidence supporting the fact that BIS have/are working with CM on OFP2 maybe this is why they dropped the destructible buildings as OFP2 has it in its all a publishers scam but hey its a good scam as ill continue to buy the dame game bugs and all just because i love it.
