To unclutter the map view
If I got this right from checking this mission system on MEPS, you are only to
fight about one sector in each battle, right?

If so, one could hide all the flags and its names to make the map less cluttered.

We will take this into consideration however, the trade-off is more work for the UN and map preparers each week when we switch sectors. Also inactive Sectors are used for Forward Spawns. Forwards Spawns sometimes referred to as FOB or FOS are locations where your BFCO will spawn forward a vehicle, or where you can go to the Map Board and spawn forward to the sector of your choosing.

The FOBs are not related to the zone, are they?
Even more they are most likely not near/at zones.

Actually its more of a dev change than a mission prep change, we already have to deactivate the zones. Its down to barmy changing certain classes of objectives to have their markers made to dissapear. The question then is whether or not having them there is disruptive enough to make the change and potential issues worthwhile.

If having all the inactive sectors and zone's displayed on the map during battleday annoys you, vote for this issue.

Would it cause issue if the MEPS is running the most up to date?

I use the meps to look at other map areas as well as the one we will be fighting in, having the flags there makes it easier for me to look at whilst scoping out stuff from the map screen, as well as orientation on the ground, i havnt memorized every area on the map we shall be fighting over.

I use the map and other flag names in battles too.

Also more scripts = more problems.

Good technical assessment Hitman. :P

People normally use landmarks (cities), markers or sectors to call out positions.
The mess on the map makes this harder. The chaotic placement of flags makes them less useful for this use.

No, we use other sector names/flags to call out things. I cannot tell you more about it as it would be calling out tactics. I voted no.

This suggestion is about flags, not sectors.

And all flags outside the sector you fight for in a match are pretty much irrelevant.

Sure at rare cases you might be able to use or two flags close to the sector for naming.
However you can easily place a marker yourself as a reference point for naming, while
all the flag markers just clutter needlessly the map view.
