I've recently started using TCP Anims (http://www.armaholic.com/index.php?m=single&id=3243) (http://www.armaholic.com/index.php?m=single&id=3243) And I thought that it may be useful for AToW?

Because, seriously, when do we have use for sitting and saluting in battle? With the ability to jump/step over fences, it makes it easier to flank enemy, rather than walking around for a way through, particulary in Urban enviroments.

What do you think?

True it would be nice to be able to get over a small fence. But would this lead to the long hated "bunny hopping"?

I doubt it, to start a jump isn't the fasting thing in the world. And you cant jump directly after another. AND you cant shoot while jumping. Theres a video of it in action somewhere, let me just find it.

EDIT: Here we are: http://www.armaholic.com/index.php?m=single&id=3225

How does it work? Do you simply walk into the object like most games or do you have to assign a key or use the option menu?

It replaces the sit down and salute action keys. Sit down does a step over type thing, and salute does a jump.

Wow! That is very cool. I would definitely go for this mod. Its a true step towards infantry realism. Being able to clear small objects and fences in a realistic manner is great. I expected to see the soldier just hop up and look fake. Not actually step and jump!

Here's the vid!

Theres another one that shows up (Linked) at the end of that called Puny Animation Test. It shows them again, but also shows how you get over fences.

Sounds good, as long as it doesn't turn into BF2 action I am all for it.

Nurm, did you even watch the video? Im guessing you did not or you wouldn't even need to make that statement.

Hopefully this would help fix some of the more interesting ways to get stuck in Urban environments for infantry.

Yes I did, just want to make sure they is no way of abusing jumping or climbing, that is all. Sounds cool, when can we get it?

I think this is just another cool things thats pretty pointless.

Id disagree because having the ability to step over fences that you once had to walk all the way around could be considered a game play improvement.

Not everyone gets to knock down any fences that stand in their way.

Well, you tankers are always looking for tasks so I say we employ you to flatten every fence in the battle area.:p

It's hardly pointless. Being able to shortcut over fences allows much easier flanking manouvers. For infantry, of course.

easier flanking manouvres lol, how can jumping over a fence which has a gap 20 metres down the line increase flanking ability. I challenge you to find a fence that is more than 20metres long (in both directions) and has no gaps, in Arma there is no tactical advantage from jumping over a fence as opposed to walking around it. I will say it again, a cool feature, but has very little point being implimented into the mod. I'd prefer the ability to salute and sit on my arse any day.

After reading everything here I have to agree with Finch. True it is nice and fancy but these high fences are here with purpose to be an obstacle and with this adding ability they losing role of obstacle.

It is bringing a question why fences and walls if they aren’t fences and walls at all?

This issue is much deeper then it’s looked in the beginning because it change everything what mappers have on mind when they creating maps. They pot walls and high fences with purpose and with this add-on we change it.

Except there are plenty of dead-ends and long stretches of houses with fences between them etc. Personally I think it would be useful just to help escape if you get stuck somewhere (it could also cause people to get stuck more often of course).
