Simply adding this to the init line of our soldiers would greatly increase our AntiTank capabilities! Lets do it! All we need is a hand held weapon model and perhaps a total disconnect from reality.

LOL I think this should be standard issue for every soldier. Kind of like the side arms 9mm pistol. But instead a hellfire.

so, you want to be totally disconnected from reality ?

we should all have the weps that hackers put on in muliplayer - shooting maverics and gbu's from m9's and the round of an m4 hitting a wall cuases a nucleur explosion. lol that would be quite a laugh (i not a hacker or anything) but of corse - the russians have to use their normal wepons and only we get the firepower of transformers lol

You guys laugh, but in all seriousness what about having a man portable MANDO missile (MPMM). I realize it is not a realistic US or Russian weapon. We could use the Javelin launcher and ammo, big and heavy, and the user can carry 1 round with a rifle, or 2 rounds with only a pistol (just like a Javelin in default ArmA). The weapon system would fire a standard MANDO missile that can only be laser guided. Both Armies would get the same equipment. Thoughts?

I like that idea, having something that inf can use to deal with bigger targets instead of always having to call on support from TB or MAW would be helpful, would free up all sections to engage more targets. Although do we include more people with LD or just keep the same people ?

A heavy duty single round MPMM might be something to consider. It would give ground guys a little more power against heavy armor. But LD's will remain at 1 per side on the battle field.

That was my intention, one MPMM launcher (1 or 2 rounds) per Army. The LD count would stay at one per Army. As Super64 stated, it would give the infantry a little extra punch against Armor, or even buildings and bridges.

I don't want to see it at AToW. But then again, is anyone really surprised at that?

I didn't think so. :P I don't even know why I try. I need to stop caring so much.

Have you guys lost your freaking minds???
In my opinon this is one of the stupidest suggestions I have heard in a while. JUst mod a damn javelin for the russians, then make it a restricted kit 1 per army.

Yeah to carry on from a previous post.... After implementing the wrench from bf2 that repairs tanks with a few twists of the wrist...let's add this gun I used in a game called ratchet and clank. It was my 6 year old nephews so keep that in mind. I believe it turned enemies into... Chickens.

The original post wasn't a serious suggestion. I was messing around with the eventhandler files that removed Hellfires from our Cobras and wondered if you could add them to an infantry unit. Since it turned out that you could, and it was hilarious, I posted a joke about it.
People say sarcasm is difficult to detect in a text medium, but I counter that this icon is pretty clear in it's intended meaning: :p

The old FPS game called Heretic had a Chicken gun or maybe a Sheep gun. Something like that.

Yeah good points guys. After thinking about it some more, armor on the AToW battlefield already has a short enough life expectancy. This might tip the balance too much.

you can bring in hellfires for troops if we get tomohawk lanuchers mouted on our tank with nuke warheads

Agreed that Armor doesn't last as long on the battle field as it should, but that is an ArmA issue. We CAN fix that if we want, we can give Tanks more armor so they last longer, the difficulty is finding something realistic and balanced.
I don't want to paint the Javelin Russian and US Cammo schemes and give it to both sides for a simple reason, they are too powerful. A single soldier can carry a Javelin with 2 rounds and a pistol. On their own they can hit targets with extreme accuracy upwards of 1500m. The reason I suggested a Man Portable Mando is that it would require the LD. This weapon system would have the same effect as a Javelin just now it needs 2 crew and would contest Laser Time with the Choppers. The LD can only target 1 target at a time. This means Mandos from Choppers cannot be used at the same time, unless you are firing 2 missiles at 1 target. The point being that it is not as big of a change if a single MPMM launcher is allowed per team. We would effectively be adding 1 or 2 MM per team, just delivered from the ground rather then air. This is just a suggestion, you don't have to go all half cocked and get angry over it.

If you really want to put the Mando scripts to use... AND increase tank lifetimes... give us anti-missile missiles.
I don't like the idea of MPMM for the simple reason that, while helicopters can fire from outside vehicle radar ranges, infantry don't appear on them at all.
If you want to give infantry more punch, maybe we should look into man-portable artillery (mortars).

or just increase the number of standard AT permitted per side

That only really works if we look at fielding more vehicles as well. The problem infantry have isn't that they can't take out armour (you keep proving that) its that they can't threaten as large an area as a helicopter can, because of a lack of coverage.
Sure, its a big problem for infantry... but an M1A1 Abrams driving around usually IS. Its the russian helos and armour that are supposed to keep us at bay, a job they do fairly well.
