I am currently below the minimum requirements for Armed Assualt v1.0 and I am still playing. So you should wait for the demo and see how bad it is. You might become a good AA soldier or SAM operator like me. Or work the new UAV or Artillery that's coming in AToW. Keep your spirits up until the final release.

Good find Assaultant. Nice to see they are finally committing to multi core CPU's. That will give the game a huge performance boost.

@Goschie: try getting a better CPU. I have a e6600 for more that 1 year now, so better go for something better than mine, not worse :)
I am gonna wait for the release for the 9800 GT to be released (begining of march) to see if i go for a 8800 GTS, or a 9800 GT/GTS. Anyway, prices will most likely drop another 20-30%.

I currently have a pentium 4 2.4ghz... I guess I don't have the urge to go for something higher than that core 2. I'm looking at overclocking too, so it doesn't matter all that much.

In all reality, I just wan't to get out of agp land.:(

GTS (G92) is supposed to match the average performance of the gtx, but is lower in price because it cant sustain the resolutions the gtx can. I don't have a massive monitor, so it's not a huge problem for me. Yes, can't wait for the prices to drop on everything else when the 9800's come out.:D

Iv seen some good GTSs which have been factory overclocked to be almost the same as the GTX (stock) - i dont think, as you said, you can tell the difference at lower res.

If I were you I would opt for a Q6600, not much more in price but a whole lot of performance once games get threaded to work on multi-core CPUs.

Actualy, that does sound nice. I heard this one is also good for oc. Not too much more in price.

Except for the Dual Core processor, I meet the minimum specs quite easily.

Make sure you get the G0 stepping and not the B3 which is an older core and does not overclock as well.

I'm completely new to multi processors. Yes, the mobo I have ready is 775, but does a Kentsfield quad use 1 or 2 sockets? And is arma 2 just saying a quad is for optimal performance, or does it actualy fully function?
