The peace that the island of Sahrani has enjoyed for the last week is over. Whilst both sides visited the opposite ends of Sahrani to tour the battle fields of the last few months, a series of verbal provocations and threats were made. With feelings still running high after the previous fighting military aggression was always likely to follow.

The UN have stepped in and forced both armies to agree to a temporary ceasefire in order to give civilians who had just started to move back into their homes the chance to evacuate. Both sides have agreed to refrain from military actions but only until Sunday 24th February at 17:00 GMT. After this deadline the gloves are off and Tour #2 begins.

There is one major difference from Tour #1. With the armies touring the battle fields, hostilities will be starting with their equipment on the opposite sides on Sahrani. The Russians will be taking up the old US HQ West of Gulan and the US will operate of the former Russian HQ in the north of North Sahrani.

Both armies had turned over control of captured territory to the UN. So Tour #2 begins with each army controlling the strategic objectives on their half of Sahrani with Corazol being the considered neutral.

Although there was only a week of peace, the UN had pushed through legislation tightening the control of safe zones (or bubbles as they a referred to). In addition they have outlawed the control or neutralising of objectives deemed to be behind the ‘front line’ although it is doubtful this will prevent all covert operations behind enemy lines.

With such a short break in fighting neither side has had an opportunity to bring in any newly developed equipment. The Russians are rumoured to be much closer to supplying their own tanks and attack choppers to the Sahrani conflict, instead of using captured US equipment. A supply of watercraft has also made it to the island and it is expected to add another dimension to the fighting. But with the huge cost of war, the break has at least allowed the armies to restock and a healthy amount of resources are thought to be available to both sides.

With the Russians in good spirits (literally) after their last victory and the US keen to avenge their losses, this is going to be another fierce series of battles.
