A&B Predator Mod, Wip post

Hi,

My Self and Boss have been working on a UAV mod/system for the ArmA: Theater of War, Tourney (www.ArmA-Tow.com (http://www.arma-tow.com/))
this system includes real world info collected from US military advisers. Our system
has a few parts that need to be on the map so that it can be used in a full scale battle.
Please note this is just a preview of the mod and is not yet final, but its getting close, as Campaign 1 is near over at ArmA-Tow, and that's our dead line (Fingers crossed).

And by the way, I have not shown you any of the scripts due to the fact they are secret, and when you see them
you'll know why that is. I just hope the US Air Force don't knock on my door.

Cheers buddy,as you know we have had many a late night working on these,but well worth it.

It as been an amazing ride in being part of this project, truly awesome and awe-inspiring and would not have missed it for the world nice one guy's & sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Yes this will be a huge concern. If small arms fire knocks it out with no problem.... we could have a problem. lol

as is it the same as a normal plane but this can be adjusted its not final yet so will need testing

In real life the UAV is used to monitor forward of patrol's for IED's it can be shot down by small arms fire. I've heard of the British Army sending out a fighting patrol because one of these got shot down but in real life its the size of a medium size RC plane, but can vary in size depending on what it needs to do i.e store photos or monitor land, and is launched by a catapult type of thing.

could not be more from the truth Tazz the reaper is the size of a A10 and is self propelled down a runway. it is also used form border partols and IED detection this platform can also fire hellfires thought i have removed them as its just a spy plane that flys's High the version your talking about is a crappy version that dont do much other then being a mobile cam.

The US Air Force's Predator (MQ-1) and Reaper (MQ-9), are both ISR platforms, which perform both recon and CAS for ground units, in Multiple theaters (and ToW lol) The US Air Force mainly employs the Pred and Reaper as its mainstay platforms, but yes smaller less sophisticated models are in theater as well, like the Warrior and Hunter, mostly used by the USMC. The Reaper being the larger faster higher UAV platform has been used mainly in the more mountianess areas of Afganistan, while the smaller slower Predator is Used in IRAQ and other hot spots. Both units however require the Same support equipment such as the GCS, GDT and PPSL to do its job. In theater flown in both Line of Sight and in Sattelite Link, the GCS tends to be stateside and more and more units are popping up to fill the need for the predator mission.
Here is a cool vid to show the ability of a Pred to take out a target without ever being seen.
