New Forum Features

TOWP (Tournament of War Players)

I am pleased to announce the addition of a new features on our forums.
The new feature is the ability to change your name in the forums. Thanks to some handy PHP work by Ru!ner this mod is now available for you to use. You are now able to go to your “User CP� and make your name change. This will help you comply with your Armies standard forum tags. Please see your Commanding Officer to find out what your tags should be changed to.
Once you know what your tags should be, follow the directions below;

1st: Go to your “User Control Panel�

2nd : Go to the “Edit Username� option

3rd: Enter new username in box and press “Save Changes�

I am pleased to announce the addition of a another new feature on our forums.
The new feature is the ability to add a team avatar to your profile in the forums. Thanks to some great art work by Dren and Coolio this feature is now available for you to use. You are now able to go to your “User CP� and make changes to your avatar. This will help you comply with your Armies standard forum tags. Please see your Commanding Officer to find out what your avatar should be changed to.

Once you know what your avatar should be, follow the directions below;

1. Go to your “User Control Panel� in the forums

2. Go to the “Edit Avatar� option

3. Choose what group of Avatars to pick from. They are grouped by Army and Division.

4. Choose The Avatar that corresponds with your rank.

5. Press the “Save Changes� button on the bottom of the page.

I am pleased to announce two new features to our forums.

The first is the ability to add a flag of your choice to you user profile. In fact you can add two flags. One for your country and one for a region within certain countries. These flags will show up within the posts that you make. This is a mod brought to us by the VBulletin community so if your flag of choice is not available I am sorry.

The Second is an Awards system. Another mod from the community that allows us to create Medals and Ribbons and then issue them to our community members that go above and beyond the call of duty. Medals will be issued by the Generals and Council members only. The awards are currently under development and you can look forward to them by campaign two.

On behalf of the Wed/Forum Development team I hope you enjoy these new features.

Embedding Media in Posts

I am pleased to announce the addition of adding media (videos, etc) to forum posts. It works with YouTube and Google videos, plus video files stored on a web host.
To use this, simply enclose the URL of the video in media tags or click the http://www.arma-tow.com/forums/images/editor/media.gif icon.

Eg. [ media ] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8px_KyIFyo [ /media ]

It will also accept width and height parameters if you need to change the window size.
[ media=width,height ] URL [ /media ]
