Just to let everyone know, we will be testing VOIP during todays Fun Test. Please set your profile accordingly. By default, VOIP is toggled on/off using 2xCapsLock. When VOIP is on you will see a mic icon displayed on your screen. When VOIP is on you will have an open mic.

You can also assign a key to open a specific channel for VOIP. To do this look in options, under controls. This would be the preferred method as opposed to switching back and forth between channels. As the probability to "accidentally" talk/text on Global Channel will become an issue. Still be sure to report to TS at the to get your orders, and clear up any confusion you might have.

Agreed to not take it in use.
Couldnt hear anything and never knew who was talking, people talked over others etc..

At this time I think we should abandon the use of VOIP. Some of the problems that were noted are:
Low Volume
Couldn't tell who was talking
People were talking over each other
Unpredictable behaviorSome of these could be addressed if we used correct protocol while speaking, others will have to wait until BIS solves the problems. BIS is hard at work on these issues for version 1.09. I suggest we hold off on using VOIP and retest after 1.09 becomes available.

Sadly I have to agree with Snowman as it seems that at this stage VOIP is not usable :(
I hope BIS solve these problems in the 1.09 patch!

Agreed. Half the greatness of TS is using TS overlay or another method to see the name of who's talking. Not the case with VOIP. I was just hearing people with muffled voices talking over eachother from who knows where. It was a disaster. ArmA VOIP might work for a 6 player coop match. But NOT a huge multiplayer game. Id be happy if we never took another look at it.
