This mod (http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST&f=70&t=66195&st=0) looks like its worth checking out. It adds bullet specific ballistic coefficients as seen in VBS2. It also tweaks bullet dispersion. And if that wasn't enough, it adds sight adjustment and realistic scopes.

Yes Runer I noticed that addon sometimes ago and I think it would be very good to have that implemented in our tornament!

I beleive the ballistics are configured for individual weapons, so we'd need to look at whether the new weapons we use are covered and make sure each side has as approximate balance of weaponry at their dispossal

I think we looked at this before. If I remember right someone saying that the ballistics heavily degraded the Russian rifles. This would need extensive testing to make sure that is not the case.

It is a excellent mod. I don't think the new russian weapons pack would have an effect because the mod is based on the ammo specs. I haven't dug into your new toys but unless they use an ammo type not in stock ArmA it shouldn't be a problem.

If you read the entire thread I think the creator says the Russian weapon performance will suffer because its based on RL ammo specs and their ammo is junk. How much they suffer I don't know but some RedFor in another tourny suggested this mod there and did some testing saying that the effect was not unbalancing. Like Raptor said it needs testing by T.O.W.

Even if the ballistics mod is not adopted the scopes and sight adjustments are very nice by themselves. Snipers will actually have to know long range markmanship. :)

EDIT:
This is off the top of my head so it needs some double checking but I think it would screw up (in an uber way) your AK-47 because I believe the only 7.62 Red ammo he modded was for the SVD.

#Russian weapons are disadvantaged at long range by these ballistics.ÂÂÂ* That's just the way it is.ÂÂÂ* However, US 5.56 mm is simulated as brand new NATO-spec M855 green tip while 5.45 mm ammo is simulated as poorly-performing 1970's style 7N6 because it's the only cartridge I could find definite data on.ÂÂÂ* The Russian ammo included in the mod is very common ammo, especially for non-Russian armies, so this isn't as outrageous as it may seem.ÂÂÂ* The Russian army may be issuing 7N10 enhanced penetration ammo to front-line units nowadays, so I'll try to implement this ammo if I can find enough data--for parity, if nothing else.ÂÂÂ* I plan to make M995 AP for the M249 and 7N22 AP for the spec-ops AKS-74 some time in the future, too.

Ok it may hurt our AK-74.. he mentions Kronzky's portable target range for checking ballistics data. Might be worth testing it out in there. The new scopes and illuminated reticles would be nice too.

Edit: Here is the target range. (http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=1262)
