I realize the time for adding to the TOW mod has passed but I'd really like to point out the ArmA Effects mod. I and others in this community are big fans of it and the tournament would do well to add it the next time the opportunity arises.
I don't have the motivation or energy to start a huge campaign for it, but I believe if you try it out, after giving it a few days to see all that it has to offer, it will speak for itself.

The mod does a great job of improving or simply even introducing particle effects to explosions, bullet impacts, and smoke.
Regardless of it's fate in this community, I'd encourage anyone to try it, as now I find it
as absolutely essential to ArmA as any given sound mod. After you blow up your first vehicle or shoot down a helicopter, you'll be sold.

Im willing to have a look at anything. If its something we all like it can always be added in a future campaign. Like Coolio said, looks cool though.

I tried it and removed it. Turned out that it was the source of the debug code that I was seeing while playing.

My bad. I dumped the test pbos into the mod folder. After I removed them all is well.

Snowman you silly fool. I love those ArmA effects. ads a bit more finished feel to everything. a little more immersive feeling. It's got my vote and I don't notice any FPS increases. I sit around the 18-45 FPS depending on whats going on and I don't notice it any worse than it already is.

I hope we're mistakenly confusing FPS "increase" for decrease? I have yet to see any decrease in FPS and it looks quite nice. BY FAR better than basic BIS bs.

Increases or decreases. lol whatever. nothing has noticeably changed as far as FPS using this addon. There you happy Moody!? :P

**********UPDATED************
If I recall, this mod was removed from the tournament. I was not there at the time it was removed, but I think I heard it was removed because of lag or something.
Anyway, it's been updated. One of the improvements is "significant optimization."
I don't recall anyone ever not liking this mod, and I'm sure plenty of people would love to see Cobra's going down in fireballs.....
So this weekend may be the perfect opportunity to give it another shot.

Lets try it!!! (Not the cobra's going down in fireballs part) lol But yes this effects mod is nothing short of amazing. Hopefully "significant optimization" means MP friendly.

It looks nice, but my system's already being pushed to its limits on medium settings.

my settings are on low, deal with it.
I think these effects mods are some of the best mods for Arma and should be used if possible.
