I just don't get it!. I have a good rig, but arma2 just dont like to run smoothly, my arma2 give me lagspikes when flying, and when in towns.
It always feel like its running little sluggish or "laggy". Compared to Crysis, it runs like a dream when all setting full and with 4xAA. Very very annoying!
Heres my rig:
CPU:Q6600 Stock, still
GPU: Radeon HD 4890 1gb OC:d
RAM: 3gb DDR2 800mhz
Motherboard: Asus P5N-E SLI
Please give me a help!
Thanks for forehands!
P.S. Sorry for bad english and grammar mistakes

I have the same graphics card but not OCed. I have seen small lag glitches and texture loading slowness.
People have been saying to lower the Video Memory from High or Very High to Normal or Low in order to offload some work to the CPU for better texturing and lag. Kind of counter-intuitive but I guess it gets rid of some latency and over-runs by sending things to the video card in smaller chunks.
There is also a new Catalyst driver out this past week.
I plan to try both but haven't found a moment to do so yet.

I should try both.

Let me know how it goes. I hope to have some time to experiment with settings in a week or so but not before that unfortunately.

Has anyone tried the FPS limiter tool? Sounds intriguing in theory.
This will effectively prevent your in game FPS from going above 30, leaving all that new found free processing power to be available as needed and providing smoother gameplay

I have error. "Cannot find "FPS_Limiter.exe" when I launching .bat file.
Edit: Copy to Hard drive with Arma 2.
Edit2: I have only Black Screen and nothing after launch.

Turning off post process and AA helps a lot. You should also load up a performance mission to check your frames to make sure they aren't bugged. Every once and while when I start up my game my frames are bugged and I have to reset graphics memory and textures to make it go away.

I get texture lag at times.Time for a better video card.
